Advanced Industrial Manufacturing is a robotic welding and fabrication company that specialise in Hardfacing and new product and technology development.
AIM can manufacturing products to your specifications or develop a product to your end user requirements. Currently we are working on GET hardfacing, farming equipment, hydraulic cylinders, laboratory equipment, new Hardfacing processes, new pipe welding processes and a new designs for Ground Engagement Tools. We are also capable of welding, Hardfacing, or technology development to your requirements.
We currently have 8 ABB robots, 4 DC 600 Miller Welders, and 2 500AMP OTC TIG machines. Our first cell is fully operational with our second currently being brought online.
AIM has experience in a range of Hardfacing and overlay techniques including PTA, MIG Powder, TIG, GMAW and others.
Welding and Fabrication
Robots are typically 3 to 6 times faster than manual welding, so can provide cost savings along with a higher quality end product. Product runs can be from one to 10,000 units and up depending on the type of product and welding required.

Industry Experience
The Managing Director of the AIM, David Budge has had the following industry experience:
Patented and produced a number of products in his first company.
Developed a thermal spray valve repair procedure for offshore gas rigs and led a team to a successful repair of onsite valves.
Developed autoclave Hardfacing process for HPAL autoclave batten strips and led teams to successfully hard-face surfaces inside autoclave.
Identified wear mechanisms for agitator blades and developed Hardfacing process to extend blade life.
Developed cavitation resistant titanium based alloy.
Jointly developed and tested new Hardfacing for titanium ball valves for HPAL industry with significant increase in valve life. Presented paper at ALTA conference on results.
Extensive experience in overlay techniques including PTA, APS, HVOF, MIG Powder Hardfacing, TIG, MIG, and other applications.
Developed Tantalum thermal spray process
Set up and tested small HPAL autoclave for Hardfacing and coating trials
Developed and applied process for Hardfacing of dryer paddle scrolls.
Developed in-house wear tester
Modified design of agitator blades to reduce cavitation
